Was that the roundabout featured in the knee down video posted a few weeks back?

Who was behind the camera? Seemed to be hiding from the action, behind that sign post Smile

As I said to you guys earlier, I was gonna ask to have a go until he stacked it! Sad
Oh well, I had a go on a nice comfy R6, and I have to admit it was easy to wheelie.
and I was shown up by *somebody* Getting their knee down on my bike Embarassed .

Oh well, C minus, must try harder.

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

Doh Embarassed

You should probably find a safer trick, your track record with wheelies isn't looking so hot Razz

At least you had your gear on. What's the damage to the bike?

All I can do is shake my head.....

Oh dear, silly GG. You will keep doing this to your bikes. I chuckled at your little shoulder shrug afterwards Laughing

At least it was only a tank of an RD - I presume there was no damage to the bike, or very minimal damage.

With all the crash's and mishaps that happen over the BCF members and boards, you'd think we'd be able to make some cash of it.

Such as you've been framed.

Beware: Long post!

I had actually mentioned to a couple of people how I thought I need a 4 stroke with wider tyres (110 width tyres don't offer exceptional stability when going slowish on one wheel) as I had had a few little scares where a wheelie had gone to high and I'd shut the throttle off, to be rewarded with the bike floating along for a second, despite a closed throttle, before coming down.
On Saturday I'd actually made myself practice using the rear brake after such a scare, however it's quite hard to condition yourself to use the rear brake in an emergency when you've spent a lot of time on the road not using it and you're concentrating on other things.

The Damage:
Broken clutch lever.
Front wheel seemed just a tad wobbly (may try and get a vid of that at some point Smile as it looked quite amusing).
Rear brake lever and right foot peg were a bit bent/loose.
The brake light bent up a bit (bent it back at the side of the road) and lost the rear reflector.
Lost a couple of chunks of rear fairing while I was at it.

As for me, I seem to have bruised my left hand a bit and my right wrist... oh and a slightly bruised arse as well Embarassed.

meh, only gone over the back twice now. I aint crashed for /ages/ either, so was due one really Smile. I do perhaps need to learn better brake control, or some rear brake control at least Smile. Unfortunately as the RD aint got a lot of power, a tap on the rear brake brings it down straight away, so it's quite hard to control and get used to the control (with a 600+ you can bring it up with the rear brake held on gently.
Obviously with the rd you need to be almost at, if not at the balance point to keep it up, otherwise it runs out of revs very quickly. Knocking it into 2nd helps, but exaggerates any movement and means even less engine braking relative to the speed. I did manage a perfect 'OMG it worked' kinda wheelie on Saturday, where I ran out of Road rather than power... but most of the time the rd either wobbles or I spend ages 'hunting' the balance point and never get it quite smooth enough until it runs out of revs.

I'm just glad we got it on camera (cheers John Wink ... though I did think I probably would come off after specifically asking John to film some of my wheelies Smile.
So far I've had my money's worth out of the bike as it is, so I'm not /that/ bothered. Parts are cheap as well, but I may well use this opportunity to get a new front end (that can take sticky tyres) on it.
