Ok I've decided to take the CBT, buy a bike and get some practice before doing the test. Can anyone recomend or just give me the names of some 125cc sports bikes that are legal to ride without a bike license? Price around £500 would be ideal, if it's over £1000 I think I'll just make do with something like the cg125 for a while.

You should be able to get an old NS125R (not NSR) for around £500 - £700, for anything newer/fancier your looking at £1000 plus to be honest mate.

I bought a clapped out old NSR125 for £350. By the time I have finished repairing it, I will have spent around £600 (doing the work myself so the cost is just parts). I'm also rebuilding the engine, It didn't have to be done, but what the hell. I say look for a cheap NSR, preferabley with a solid engine, then fix it up. Tyres and rear suspension are expensive things to replace, so make sure they are ok as well Razz

About the same as me really.
Paid £250 for a dodgy ns125r and spent another £200-£250 on it,thats not including the engine problems i had with it Wink

Buy a cheapy, use it for experance and sit your test.
Dont go out and buy a brand new one if your thinking of doing your test in the near future, you'll only waste alot of money and get bored of it quickly.

Try Ebay for cheap 125 or in the exchange and mart thingy on this forum.(or buy mine if i pass my test next month ! Wink )

Good luck ! Thumbs Up
