Going to look at a CBR600F 1988 next week which needs a new rear tyre and has no mot.
Owner says it has full service history and has 48k on clock.
It is nice, reliable &clean and he is asking for £750ono.
Is this about the correct price or can someone give me some info please.

Check over the in FAQ submissions forum the guide to looking over second hand bikes. Sounds a bit much if it needs MOT and tyre. Has he tried to MOT it, and failed on the tyre? If so, ask to see the paperwork as it will tell you if anything else is wrong with it.

Is it taxed? If so how long as thats £45 for 12 months to get it.

48k on the clocks, should be okay, depends on how its been looked after.

Assuming its got nothing major wrong with it, with that stuff needing doing, I'd offer at 600 and haggle to about 650-675

I'd say that's a bit much for a bike with no MOT and needing a new rear tyre.

Considering the likely cost I'd tend to offer around £500.

Make sure you give it a good going over for loose bearings etc.
