I am about to remove my gas tank on my 1994 Kawasaki ninja ZX-6E and wanted to double check with some other people that the tank is vacuum sealed...

I was unfortunate enough to run over a nail and pop my rear tire with a full tank of gas and am going ahead and taking care of routine maintenance while I wait for my shop to mount my new tires...

I just don't want 4 gallons of gas spewing everywhere when I undo the hoses...

thanks in advance

If you have a petrol tap make sure that is turned off and then no fuel should come out.

I'd been meaning to ask the same for a cx (old bike definitely none of that vacuum nonsense :p ) turning it to the off position will stop the 17 liters of petrol visiting my garage floor then?

man...

I ended up putting too much stress on one of the other hoses and it literally ripped off...3 gallons of 93 octane went everywhere...

what a pain!

thanks for the replies
