I've recently read somewhere that having your clutch lever to tight into the perch can seriously cause some damage (something about not having a clutch for very long if it is). I was just wondering if anyone knows how much of a gap there should be between the clutch lever and the perch. It's one of those niggly little things that you always think is becoming a problem even if it's not?! If that makes any sense at all lol

Yeah, if the clutch cable is too tight it can have the same effect as if you are holding the clutch lever in a mid-way position. Slipping the clutch all the time effectively meaning that it never engages. There should be 2mm of freeplay at the end of the clutch lever to stop this.
