Was out and about on Saturday around the Biggin Hill area and yet another fallen tree was encountered on the same BOAT
Of course we are not allowed to go out with the intention of clearing it but luckily in this instance we could pass underneath. But it is the horse riders who would be put out (not wide enough for a 4x4 to pass along this route). ____________________ Just talk bikes. What else is there?

Trees do fall down in the countryside.
Horse riders won't be put out by it, they'll just turn around and go a different way. Plus they'll probably report it to the landowner.
Don't report it to the Highways Agency because they'll lol at you as it's nothing to do with them so they'll tell you to go to the council.

This was another tree that was across the same BOAT a while ago and was cleared by either the landowner or Bromley Council after it was brought to their attention. It is quite an old tree,as can be seen by the amount of ivy but I would suppose that the weight of that and weakened by that which had strangled it was sufficient to bring it down.In this instance we were able to get under it,but an older fallen tree along the same route was down for some time and a path was beaten around it.
This pile of dumped asbestoes roofing was reported to Bexley Council along with the ivy covered fallen tree a little further up 'Old London Road' near Swanley. Not been up that way for a while, but Bexley are much like Bromley in not really wanting anything to do with Rights of Way....

The rules state that one is not allowed to go out with the specific intention of clearing a blocked route, but should you encounter such a blockage while out and about then one is allowed to clear only so much so as to allow further passage. ____________________ Just talk bikes. What else is there?
