New biker with an interest in a LEXMOTO LXS 125

Hi all, I’m new to biking, hoping to get my CBT in the next few weeks!

I’m 5 foot 11 with a 35 inch inside leg and I’m quite interested in a Lexmoto LXS 125. I’ve heard mixed things about the bike but the main thing I’m undecided on is the riding position. I’ve heard it’s quite sporty but also neutral, but then I’ve also heard that it’s sporty and you have to hunch over the tank to be comfortable which doesn’t sound ideal for a first bike.

If what people are saying about the riding position being sporty but neutral where you can lean forward but can also sit more upright that sounds good but just wanted to get some anecdotal experience really.

I do plan on sitting on one but I’d need to get someone to drive me down to the dealer which is about 2 hours so would rather be confident before taking the plunge.

Do the trek to the dealers (or find somewhere closer) 'cos even if you don't like the seating position on this bike there'll be loads more to try out.

awful junk

a local dealer took one in px, 2021 with 6000 miles, it would only bump start but it did turn over well on the starter, checked valve clearances found they were all over the place so rectified and would still only bump start, checked compression and it was well down, checked lexmoto feedback and sold it at auction

I also rode a Zontes 125 on CBT. I would say they are higher quality than the Lexmotos i've seen up close. Wouldn't let that put you off though as the price has gone up to reflect that.

When you pass your test and want a larger bike note that many places wont accept a chinese bike as part-ex. A number refused to quote me for mine (2 yrs old in excellent condition). They do sell very well privately. I did eventually manage to part ex it for £1800 - having paid 2500 for it a year earlier. A years fun riding for £700. The dealer put it back up for sale at £2300 and it got snapped up immediately.

With a 35" inside leg you may well want to go and swing a leg over a few first. Some 125s can come up a bit small. I'm 5'9" w/ 31" inside leg and could comfortably flat-foot my Zontes G1 which I believe is among the larger bikes in the class.

....although I think you should buy my CBR 400 and get a restrictor fitted
