For those of us without a billion records to go through, I am using:
https://1001albumsgenerator.com/
Only found one album out of 25 so far that I didn't know AND like but its good to expand ones horizons. |

^^^She has a voice that I recognise and the music likewise. Amyl and The Sniffers ...?
...that's it I remember now I was thinking a more upbeat Courtney Barnett and Hole.
Uk gigs in winter are the best, it's either the band playing brand new material or they're finishing a very long tour and their set is as tight as it'll be. ____________________ Diabolical homemade music Bandcamp and Soundcloud

Bit of an update to the "What gigs has Cansa been to?" thing.
IIRC Bob Vylan was the last gig I mentioned in this thread.
18/11 - Pigsx7 again, but in Liverpool
29/11 - Sleaford Mods, support by Big Special
I have seen Sleaford Mods before and they were awful so I thought I'd give them another chance.
Still awful.
Sleaford Mods are Weaponised Political Autism in Musical form.
Big Special were fucking epic though.
Halfway through the set Joe mentioned there were 2 tickets left for their Manchester gig in a couple of weeks.
I bought them there and then.
10/12 - The Big Moon, supported by Liz Lawrence
Went to this with another BCFer.
I properly loved this gig.
It is my feel-good gig of 2023.
Both acts were brilliant.
16/12 - Big Special, Supported by Griot Gabriel doing some cool spoken word stuff and Sustinere.
Great night, good sounds and good vibes.
Got to have a chat with everyone.
<Christmas break>
</Christmas break>
Had nothing booked until 24th Jan, but I was getting properly itchy and tetchy n shit.
13/1
I spotted The Vaccines were playing in Liverpool and I was saved.
It was at a new venue in Liverpool called Content and it's a decent size with a decent sound setup.
It was packed, huge turn out.
Really good gig, as soon as the music started I felt the stress and tension instantly fall away.
24/1 - Jonathan Pie
Not a gig, but a decent night out at the Philly with the missus.
Lots laughs but very informative regarding how corrupt and broken our Gubberment actually is.
27/1 - Panic Shack
Another good gig, they always make it a good time.
Bumped into a guy who has a pic of me in the crowd at another gig we both went to a few months back.
Then I saw the same dude the next evening at another gig.
It was a proper weird glitch in the matrix weekend.
28/1 - Frank Carter - Some chilled out acoustic thing style.
I went to this gig to see if this guy is a wanker.
It was ok, it was an alright vibe, Frank didn't come across as a wanker.
Gig was improved by my new gigbro randomly appearing, genuine it was so fkin weird
6/2 - Now that my cous has turn 18 and is at Liverpool Uni, I asked him if he fancied going to a couple of gigs.
It turned into carnage, full on shitfaced when I dumped him at home.
-Kula Shaker - Wanted to see these guys since i was a spotty teenager many moons ago.
Was bloody awesome, good times all round.
-Pip Blom - Proper gig and was fkin epic. Good show, good vibe, good crowd.
11/2 - Frank Carter and the Rattlesnakes, supported by The Mysterines and Hot Wax - Barrowlands in Glasgow
Frank Carter is a wanker, it was a gig for the birds, fully cringe.
The Mysterines were great, amazing to be honest. They shoulda been the headliners IMO.
HotWax are a good time, seen them before and I like their vibe.
14/2 - Pip Blom in Manchester
Was supposed to go with the missus but her work got in the way, FML.
Phoned my new gigbro to see if he fancied a Valentines date.
It was ok, but no where near as good as the previous gig in Liverpool.
16/2 - Dream Wife - Back in Glasgow again.
Was an ok night out, but the band were tired and you could tell.
Not as good as the 1st night of their tour at the start of October.
22/2 - Lime Garden - Album launch thing.
Was ok, felt a bit cheated as they were only on for 25mins!
All other launch gigs the bands have been on for about an hour.
28/2 - Double Dipped again
-Nadine Shah album launch thing, was awesome.
Small tiny venue with like 30 people.
Had a quick chat with Nadine after the gig.
-Editors - Arrived halfway through their set, was good but fkin heaving.
Venue was stiflingly hot, so much so people were leaving.
I heard the songs I wanted to hear and left.
It was a shame cos I like the band, but the HVAC at the venue is pathetic.
That's everything so far.
Got more lined up over the next few months.
Damn, it's better and cheaper than crack. |

I'm listening to Catch-22 on Audible and finally I am getting into it.
I've attempted to read it several times in the last 45 years ( ) and I just couldn't get into it.
But at last all my powers of concentration were in the same place at the same time, and I engaged with it. I've surprised myself by actually laughing out loud in some places.
To separate out the chapters they have used the droning sound of WW2 aeroplanes, very low volume, in the background. ____________________ Not nearly as interesting in real life. |

As a seasoned raider, I've faced countless foes, but none have matched the ferocity of Scalecommander Sarkareth. This draconic behemoth commands the Crucible with an iron fist, unleashing devastating attacks that test our very limits. Sarkareth's fiery breath engulfs the battlefield, while his razor-sharp claws tear through our ranks. His mastery of draconic magic conjures whirlwinds of chaos, disorienting our formation and disrupting our strategies.
Defeating this formidable foe requires unwavering teamwork, precise execution, and an unwavering resolve. Each encounter is a nail-biting dance of dodging his attacks, exploiting his weaknesses, and coordinating our strikes to bring down this mighty dragon.
Scalecommander Sarkareth is the ultimate challenge. His sheer power and relentless onslaught demand our utmost respect and push us to our limits. Only the bravest and most skilled adventurers will emerge victorious from this ultimate test of strength and courage. If you have problems then - buy scalecommander sarkareth kill

After all the hype I thought I'd better listen to Beyonce's country album. What a bag of shite.... Basically modern R&B with a banjo. ____________________ Now - Speed Triple, old ratty GS550, GSXR750M

That Metropolis-esque video is far superior to the audio on that one! ____________________ Daddystu

Today, Creed and Soundgarden.
I only listen to CDs in my car and recently got some of the ''back when I was younger'' albums. I must say, I don't usually like listening to music in cars, but for whatever reason in my '98 Mercedes-Benz w210 (OEM speakers with OEM Alpine MF2910 CD player) everything sounds somewhat pleasing, detailed and full. Also, the cabin is very well insulated from the outside world, and you only hear the engine or rather the intake with kompressor whine at full throttle. I do enjoy the full throttle intake noise of my w210, by the way.
