Sounds just like the original Rainbow Six then, which is what im hoping for. The other R6's are bullshit, all after Rogue Spear.

I re-installed and it does the same thing. Might try another download form a diff site.

Upload the error log if you can't get another version to work.

It went shite after rogue spear, but to be honest it was never that good anyway. A very limited game.

#1, You cannot leave the floor unless climbing ladders.

There are many more limitations I could point out to you.

Why would you need to? How many times do you see soldiers in close quarter combat randomly jumping in the air and jumping round corners? There is no where in the game you need to jump, thus no reason to have a jump function.

Next?

Some of us would like to use the terrain more. I've never heard of a soldier that couldn't go lay on a crate.

the original rocked as did rogue spear and all related expansions, bang on my kind of game, i often spent longer planning than actually playing

when they binned such in depth planning on the consoles and stuff the game lost its edge

nowt like watching a carefully laid plan work out to the detail misson complete in 60 seconds Very Happy

rainbow six 3 was good, graphically a huge improvement and so far the best feeling guns ive encountered in an FPS

lockdown looked from the views to be much more arcadey and more shoot em uppy, wang Thumbs Down

not being able to jump, or having a loading bar to climb over objects takes some getting used to and can be frustrating, but it is trying to be a simulation and when you are climbing you wouldnt be shooting, so i guess its fair enough

Aparently Lockdown is supposed to be a lot more like the original and rogue spear, with a faster game play.

It hasnt been made by the same people as the Rainbow Six's after Rogue Spear. Red-Storm have actually been part of the making of Lockdown which means the gameplay should be more like the original game.

Thats the only reason i want it, the others have been complete bollocks. Hopefully when i can get it working, i will find the game just like the original with better graphics Laughing

Which game are you referring to? The first 3 TC games I played didn't allow climbing except on ladders?

The original Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six you can climb up onto crates/ climb up stairs ( if you dont want to walk up them Wink ) etc... plus ladders.

Maybe your thinknig Ghost Recon which is a much slower and stealthy game than R6. Ghost Recon was also a belting game, but i want GR:2 to come out on the PC allready! Which ever comes out first, GR:2 or Lockdown will be what i play. (On the basis that GR:2 isnt out on pc yet, and that lockdown isnt going to be complete bollocks)

Are you sure? I never managed to climb anything but ladders.

On a side note the ability to climb tree's would be a nice addition to any FPS. Sniping from a tree = Cool .
