Hey,
I think you may have posted it in the New Biker section, oh well. That's a nice bike, when are you thinking of doing your test?

Welcome to the forum Thumbs Up

Looks like a really good example of a cbr4. I've just sold mine yesterday. How much did you pay for it if you dont mind me asking ? Guessing from the picture it was from a dealer ?

I was up in the area on the ZZR a week or so ago (I'm from Ashton originally), shame I couldn't make it up to Rivington Barn on the Sunday, would've been nice to chuck the bike around for a few laps of Winter Hill... Smile

Nice CBR4 Thumbs Up

Best get some crash bungs fitted asap as you will kick yourself if you drop it and scuff all that paintwork Shocked

R&G seem to be the most popular:

Cutting a hole in the fairings is not difficult, you really don't need to spend money getting a garage to do it for you. Just a case of measuring twice and cut once Wink

Personally I would make the bungs a priority. On a fully faired bike a simple drop results in cracked and scuffed farings, instantly knocking at least £500 - 1000 off the resale value. Plus you won't be able to find replacement fairings for the colour scheme it's got very easily, if at all.

If it's your first big bike you will drop it Sad

Food for thought anyway Wink

You might not, especially a CBR. I had a 50, then a 125, then a CBR400 and i only ever dropped the 50. The CBR was so small it was almost impossible to drop anyway and the handling definetly won't send you skittling down the road!

heya, nice bike, as said, would advise on getting some R&G's for it, not got 'em myself yet, but quite highly rated, dropping the bike will be soooo easy as you may have found out, if you havn't, you will within a few months, are you putting to her to bed for winter?
if not, good luck with the conditions, i nearly dropped my ns125r a few times, but only twisted my wrist.. Wink

Yeah i'd go with the crash bungs too, shows you care about the bike imo & as said before, can save a load of cash on repairs and paintjobs especially if you want it the same again.

It's heavier, so if you loose your balance when say turning it around on the driveway, or backing it out of a parking space, or putting your foot in a patch of oil at a petrol station etc.... it will have a higher angled 'point of no return' and you might not so easily keep it upright.

Everyone's different, some are stronger/taller than others so granted you may have no trouble holding it up. But statistically you will at some point drop your first big bike.

As to the handling... whats that got to do with not sending you down the road Confused . You could have the best handling bike in the world, but hit a patch of diesel on a roundabout and it won't save you.
