i'd be happy to help out in the creation of a newsletter. the company i work for, i create the newsletters - i dont write the content, but layout etc i an suprisingly good at, i can also convert a newsletter into a PDF format which could be emailed, instead of emailing something like a webpage.

the last newsletter i did for corsair (the company i work for)
www.freewebs.com/zerogz/Newsletter.PDF (750kb's)

lol, PDF's rule Very Happy

if you sent out a newsletter in html/webpage format, you are limited to about 10 fonts, which sux bigtime.

You use more than 10 fonts in a publication? Confused Smile

IMHO pdf's are too big, and the reader's too slow/clumsy with not enough features.

you dont need more than 10 fonts in a publication, but what i mean by limited, is to specific fonts, arial, times new roman, courier. you cant use any decent fonts in webpages coz if other ppl dont have them it defaults what they see to be in arial.

and pdf's are tiny unless u use a shed load of images. that one i posted is only 750kb's coz it has a 15mb image over the background of the middle 2 pages.

you can put links on a pdf just like u can a webpage. so if u want to link to a website, you can, if u want to put an email contact in, it can be clickable, if u have an index down one side of some of the features, u can set it so when u click on the features it will flick to the specific page.

PDF's rule Wink Very Happy

Wot G Said ^^...plus, not everyone has/wants Adobe Acrobat...and in order to send the .pdf, you'll need to put it as an attachment or download, and in the day of paranoia about viruses, this may not be a good thing Confused

Just a thought...

Yeah, 'twas said partly in jest... and thus the Smile

IME PDF's are usually bigger than a html file with added pics etc.

I used to have to load pdf's on my 233 at work (I do have a bit better comp now)... it could take upto 5mins to load bigger ones!.

Okay there's a problem with attaching htm files as you can't include graphics unless you zip it, but then there's a lot more support for zip files than pdf's generally.... Most people will be reading it while on line anyway so there's no reason the pics can't be pointed to other sources.

PDF's suck Wink Very Happy Laughing

well if it happens, and which ever way it goes, i'm happy to help with any of it. can do graphics, designs, i can do basic html but i'm sure someone else can do it better/quicker, ummmm reviews if desperate Razz, can create stuff in flash wether it be a small rotating image or a full page advert with parts moving around, appearing/disapearing etc etc.

oh and i can convert stuff to pdf from pretty much anything. to convert to a pdf u have to print whatever it is you want, into the pdf file. so anything that can be printed is potentially a pdf Wink

i agree with G and Tin. HTML e-mail = quick to download, quick to view, can be as well designed as a pdf, not everyone has 'acroshat' (acrobat)either. Razz

yeah i hate the things, that little hand just winds me up especially as you have to often scroll sideways as well as down

and it also strikes me as uneccesary correct me if im wrong, we already have a perfectly fine way to display such thing, but adobe makes another, just to make money, and it ends up being a load more hassle

i share the same view of quicktime, all to often i download a movie, only to find its quicktime and i cant view it etc, if mpg and avi are fine, then why make more formats?

just my view on the thing

Goose, quicktime was originally made for AppleMacs and then done for the PC as an afterthought. That's why it's shite and will only work with some mpeg's. Damn quicktime and acroshat!! Evil or Very Mad
