To slip the clutch is to release the clutch lever slowly, so the bike has plenty of revs, therefore it can move. Thumbs Up
Is this what you meant?

It's a technique for launching a bike hard off the line, or traffic lights Wink. It's most effective on 2-strokes and bikes with a tall first gear.

If you let the clutch out straight away some bikes tend to 'bog down' and not accelerate quickly. If you get some revs in the engine then start feeding the clutch out you can regulate how fast and how much of the power comes in. Now instead of letting it straight out, you slowly feed it out from this point while applying more throttle to get the revs higher up the rev range (in the powerband) and therefore more acceleration.

Hope that makes some sense, I just re-read it and it confused me! Laughing

Clutch slip can also be used for low speed -- like as in walking speed, you use a little bit of rear brake and find the biting point of the clutch and around 2k revs and the bike will creep, ideal for slow speed control when out on the road.
