Any 3d printer owners on here?
Its a great technology that's rapidly getting more and more affordable.
I've been loving the FDM side of it for just over a year now, awesome for making brackets and clips, phone mounts etc.
also Just got a resin machine in January for model making: ____________________ Chase my Witch up, Catch my Snitch up.

Had one for about 5 years. Started out as a chinese acrylic frame Mk2 clone but just about everything but the motors has been replaced now
Really handy for making brackets and stuff. I've made a few to hold my new speedometer on and i'm going to make another for my headlight when I can be bothered.

Thinking of getting a 3D printer to make little jigging pieces and adapters for work holding in my workshop to save me the hassle of bodging things together from timber or steel.
Nothing will be bigger than maybe a maximum of 100 mm x 100 mm x 100 mm.
What should I be looking for when browsing for one or what is the best I can get for around the £500 - £750 price range?
I'm new to all this, but I can model things in AutoDesk software (AutoCAD 3D, REVIT and Maya), I need to learn what the next steps are after that
EDIT:
I bought a SOL 3D Scanner:
https://scandimension.com/products/sol-3d-scanner-included-tent-3d-scanner-usb-cables-cover-and-scan-target
But it just doesn't have the resolution to scan the very small and intricately detailed things (remote control engine parts, springs and fasteners), so any idea what forums there are where someone might be interested in it? ____________________ PRESENT: 2018 BMW S1000XR SE Sport.

I've got an upper limit of £750.00 for a cash purchase, after that it would be credit and I'd like to avoid that if possible. ____________________ PRESENT: 2018 BMW S1000XR SE Sport.

the Voron 2.4 isn't a commercial product, it's an open source project. AFAIK you can't buy them built and probably wont be able to for some time.
As good as it is, it's not really a decent printer for anything precise as its skillset is speed. A newcomer to printing would be overwhelmed buying one. ____________________ struan80 - I'll go first - satisfied tick 1 |
