Debian works on most Power PC systems. https://www.debian.org/ports/powerpc/
Assuming that port uses the standard installer, then it is not really "graphical". It is a menu based system, which is fairly easy to follow and *reasonably* self explanatory. It's not a case of sitting back and watching the installer do its thing, but you shouldn't find it too difficult as long as you know at least a little about your system.
Debian can be installed off a downloaded cdrom, or off the net (think you need to make a boot floppy to get the installer started).
On a system like yours, Debian really is your best option. You could try one of the more newbie-friendly distros, but I think you will find them too bloated for your low-spec hardware.
If you want a GUI, don't even think about using the KDE or Gnome desktops, as they are bloatware crap that will never work on an old box - For a lightweight GUI I advise you try the Blackbox WM (which you will be able to install easily with Debian). I run Blackbox on an old 50mhz Sun Sparcstation and have no complaints. ____________________ Hard livin', hard luck. |
