Looking at this thread made me think.

We may think we have it bad sometimes, but check out your position in the global rich list. You may not be as badly off as you thought!

If you earn £100 a year there are 431,325,301 people poorer than you.

Suppose we should be grateful of how fortunate we are. Thumbs Up

Not to denegrate your thread but

those things are dead inaccurate anyway , in that its probably based on the $ you earn a day.

While £1 buys very little in the UK , in places like India or China it buys a helluva lot , or the fact that indian call centre staff are paid 1/5 of what ours are and have cush middle class lives better than here.

and it says donate 1 hours salary? , I wish I was paid £25/hour but I am not , and anyway if you want to donate to charity give via gift aid via your payroll which increases the amount donated via a tax mechanism I won't bore you with.

"Sorry, if you earn less than $90 a year we are unable to calculate your position on the richlist.

If this is the case you would be one of the billions of people who earn less than $2 a day. Typically you would also not have access to a computer or an Internet connection.

If you are earning less than $90 a year it¹d be unfair to ask you to donate money to Care International, if however, you actually earn more than this it may be worth re-calculating your position."

I've always wondered if being an accountant increases or decreases your insurance quotes , since mine dropped like a rock (50% on last years) when I said I did accounts and stuff then again I did pass the 25 mark at the same time.

on the flip side them thinking you working in a boring job all week might go for harsh burns at the weekend and hence = higher risk.

Me and the wifes wages combined. She is a chartered accountant.

You are in the top 0,001% richest people in the world.
You don¹t need to know any more than that (and besides our calculator can't do sums that big).

Hmmmm...... don't feel rich.

Also doesn't take into account cost of living either.

If you sold your UK house and moved to India it would buy you a fully staffed mansion.

It'd be more interesting if the source data was from a cross section of similar ages in fully developed countries (IE France, Sweden, Germany) and then converted into arbitrary units taking into account cost of average living.
