Your idling problem could be carb icing but only if it was pretty cold.

Just as likely is a bad battery connection or earth, so have a good look at your electrics.

Is this the first time it's been a problem, if not what were the conditions like then?

the way to tell if its carb icing is to...... say from 4th gear blip down the gears untill you come to a stop. if its carb icing the revs will die on the blip like the motor is cutting out, then come alive when the clutch is out and its in say 3rd gear.....

if is carb icing... pull over some were safe, and tern the bike off, leave for about 1 min then tern on and let it warm up again should be fine now... also carb icing gets worse when you arse hole it in the cold so keep rev nice and smooth...

ok you can take this advice of leave it up to you.. some people
might think its wrong, but it what i have found to work

riichy PM me for more info as my zxr400 is a bast at carb icing Laughing

It doesn't need to be freezing to ice, you have wind chill etc helping out, Silkolene do a petrol additive which is well thought of on the Thundercat site, the 'cat suffers with icing too.

I use Silkolene FST and that seems to solve the problem of icing on my Cat

That was quoted from the site, it's available from Halfords etc.
