Basicly the bars are currently like this...

https://homepages.nildram.co.uk/~noriba74/images/bike/ta5.jpg

I want something slightly higher up and further back, on long journeys i end up haveing to lean forward to get the bars, weirdly the cx was designed for the rider to sit fairly far back in the seat the bike handles better this way.. i dont want ape bars Sick i'd like something that would mean i could sit up straighter and further back, only very slightly but will make longer distance rides allot easyer...

I was thinking maybe dominator/transalp bars (the cross bar will look cool but have to be fairly sure it wont mess with the fuse box (the silver thing in the center of the bars), the are both upright rideing position sort of bikes, so i figure it will help the position of mine..or am i horribly tragicly wrong?
Any others i should be looking at? any bar picking tips?

I would have thought trail bars would be lower than your current ones. Most trail bikes are tall because of their geometry not their bars.
I'd be looking at bars from other commuter/tourer bikes.

Best bet would be to go to a breakers and rummage around; most will be happy for you just to browse their stores. Take your bike obviously and find something that seems to fit. Remember you will need to bodge something if the bars are too narrow, shouldn't be hard though.

The renthal site has measurements! Shocked i will go have a look how mine and theirs compare...
Yeh i had a horrible feeling the enduroish bars were high just because they are by their nature..
I might see if there is anything that will match mine or have a poke around at the breakers, i've never seen anywhere apart from the renthals site that gives measurements!
The crossbars, are they an optional thing? (provided i don't decide to start trying moto-x style tricks on a quatre of a tons worth of 70's barge) depending on weather i can fit the various stuff on the bars with it on i might keep it on (though it might be tricky i think)..
Thanks for that, if anyone can think of any other good places with a wide rage of bars (with measurements) let me know Smile

The VX800 bars might suit you, they are a siliar height to your existing ones, but wider with more pull back. Alternatively, the US spec VX800 bars are higher too, more cruisery.
