I think Ducati are going to be pleased with Bastianini if that result is anything to go by though. I really had visions of him "doing an Iannone", and taking out Pecco on the last lap, like Iannone did to Dovi back in the day. Thankfully they both managed to avoid that fate.

You'd think so wouldn't you, but apparently not, the Ducati CEO has had a go at him saying he "risked too much" in trying to win a race
https://www.visordown.com/news/racing/motogp/%E2%80%9Che-risked-too-much-we-don%E2%80%99t-it%E2%80%9D-ducati-boss-critical-bastianini-here
So they sign Bastianini with the intention he can win races, then moan when he tries to win a race, before he has even raced in the factory team, you really couldn't make it up |
Managers always have their own view of the situation. But I think they had the heat of passion earlier, and this situation was just an excuse. Still, Bastianini is a good rider.
Hello, everybody.

Despite the lack of overtaking it was an interesting race.
Pecco falling off...again.
Jack absolutely superb.Likewise Brad Binder.
Marquez riding without pain and hasn't lost any speed.
Fabio doing just enough....gained 8 points on his rivals.
Zarco....doing a zarco.
Cal was on good form.
Scott Ogden did go backwards but did gain a few points.
Josh Whatley ...unlucky.
Dixon..playing with the big boys on a regular basis. ____________________ Diabolical homemade music Bandcamp and Soundcloud

Pecco is really his own worst enemy.
Gutted for Aleix, stuck with the pit limiter on.
Great for Marquez, this is a hopeful start to his return.
Miller though, he was in a different league, riding so fast it had me a bit worried to be honest!
Looking forward to Thailand this weekend now. ____________________ Current - '94 VFR750FR, '00 VFR800FI Previous - '10 Street Triple R, '92 MZ ETZ301, '05 TTR250, NSR125R, KMX125, "Honda" Win (chinese copy of an old Honda design with a C90 engine)

I haven't watched the race yet, but I'm absolutely loving this year's championship (especially in comparison to F1), you have absolutely no idea what's going to happen next. Is it 9 different winners this season? And Rins of all people last time out.
Qualifying for Malaysia was chaos, I thought Mir and Marquez were going to be on the front row at one point, but the 2 championship contenders are nowhere (Bagnaia 9th and Quarteraro 12th), both outqualified by Morbidelli. And then Martin absolutely smashed the lap record for pole at the death.
Jake Dixon qualifying 4th in the Moto2 as well. ____________________ Current - '94 VFR750FR, '00 VFR800FI Previous - '10 Street Triple R, '92 MZ ETZ301, '05 TTR250, NSR125R, KMX125, "Honda" Win (chinese copy of an old Honda design with a C90 engine)

Enjoyed watching Q2 today...my mouth was dry just looking at Pecco.
Fabio riding out of his skin.
Shame Enea fell off but hoping he gets up there during the race.
Still a tad gutted that Suzuki are leaving.
Wonder if Gigi has been giving the other Ducati riders 'advice'.
Brad could turn everything on its head if he does a Binder ...same for Marc. ____________________ Diabolical homemade music Bandcamp and Soundcloud

The race itself wasn't that exciting in terms of the Championship once it was clear Quarteraro wasn't going to make it to the front, but it was so nervy from Bagnaia it made the whole thing tense anyway, and there was some genuinely good racing further down the order.
I've really enjoyed this season. I did call it for Pecco at the beginning of the year, but I really wasn't expecting it to go all the way to the line and be so crazily up and down. Bagnaia makes the biggest ever comeback to win. Seven different riders won a GP. Rins winning 2 out of 3 races at the end of the season for Suzuki just as they exit. Jorge Martin qualified pole 5 times without a win to show for it.
I'm really hoping that everyone except Ducati steps up now, and next year is just as cutthroat. Bagnaia and Bastianini are not going to be cozy stablemates. If Quarteraro gets the power he keeps asking for he'll be right up there. If Honda sorts their bike out, so will Marc Marquez. ____________________ Current - '94 VFR750FR, '00 VFR800FI Previous - '10 Street Triple R, '92 MZ ETZ301, '05 TTR250, NSR125R, KMX125, "Honda" Win (chinese copy of an old Honda design with a C90 engine)

The season had its moments and maybe next year we'll have one of those extremely rare awesome ones.
MM has reported the new bike isn't a championship winner.
Cal said the new Yamaha is a rocket yet Fabio wasn't overly impressed.
Jack found it easy to transition to the KTM.
Brad Binder...ahh BB you're almost there....sure have the aggression.
The satellite dukes will all be running the last version of the '22 bike.
Aprilia are still, in my opinion the best overall bike...yet their riders are a little inconsistent.
I forget what the testing times were apart from Lorenzo's lap record is still alive and they were about -1.5s behind it (He described it as the best lap of his life 2017).
Think it's Sepang in February for the next test. Maybe see if those Ducati can be rattled, or another season of watching the special ones over riding...which I suppose is entertaining in a mildly sadistic way.
2023 means no front shapeshifter.
Still plenty of buttons/levers for them to play with.
