Quote:
Although health officials say MAOIs are safe when used correctly, the drugs can cause dangerous interactions, including sudden and severe rises in blood pressure that can lead to a stroke, when patients consume food or drinks that contain a substance called tyramine — found in draft beer, red wine, fava beans, salamis, aged cheeses, soy sauce and other products.

There are plenty of 'safe' medicines which you're not allowed to mix with alcohol. This one just includes a few fods as well. As long as people follow the instructions!

My personal favourites are the anti-depressants with the possible side effects of increasing depression and suicidal thoughts... doesn't exactly fill you with confidence about taking the buggers Shocked

compared to most so called psychiatric drugs thats nowt mate. Some of them are a lot lot worse and you dont even have to break the rules for them to fuck you up permanently.

"This little patch will make you happy! But you can't eat pies and drink beer".

Talk about giving with one hand and taking away with the other. Laughing
